Custom Spiral Dough Hook For Kitchen Aid Artisan - JP 12

Every bread book I read which mentions using electric mixers for making bread, always mentions the use a spiral dough hook. So excitedly, I try to order a spiral dough hook for the Kitchen Aid Artisan Mixer but.......

......................................................... they don't make one!

They do one for the Kitchen Aid Lift Bowl Mixer and Professional mixers, but not the Artisan.

But I wanted one because they are -

Efficient - its a quicker way of mixing the dough compared to a dough hook.

Best method - as close to kneading dough by hand as you can get with a machine.

Cool - its a great gadget that I wanted to add to the baking equipment list.

No Climbing Dough - having to stop the mixer to knock dough back into the mixer, is a thing of the past.

I had given up trying to find a spiral dough hook. Until I mentioned it to a friend who did a quick search and found this on Ebay.

See it in action on Youtube in a quick video I did after its delivery.

This product is great, it fills a huge gap in the Kitchen Aid Line up. I was even contemplating upgrading to a larger Kitchen Aid Mixer to get the spiral dough hook capability.

Its very well made and looks like it will last a lifetime

It works fast and makes a quick job of mixing bread dough, leaving the Kitchen Aid Dough Hook in its wake.

A great price for a custom product, the Kitchen Aid Artisan Dough Hook (non spiral) costs £30 and that's mass produced.

The JP12 is custom made and just over £50 shipped from Netherlands to the UK. They also do a stainless steel version for a higher cost.

Thanks for creating a product that is so efficient and works so well

Look at their other custom made spiral dough hooks as they make them for many other makes and styles of mixers.

The Ebay link might break over time, they also have two websites you can buy direct from www.superdoughhook.jimdo.com or www.dejongparts.biz

Not a paid review just a very happy customer !

  3. The JP12A is the stainless version they make. It cost $107 including delivery from The Netherlands. The raw aluminum JP12 is $48. There is no white coated model. Their current url is superdoughhook.com.

Surely Kitchenaid could make one for much less. But they still don't.
